Zelensky's advisor proposes exempting pensioners and state employees from general declaration

Danylo Hetmantsev, Volodymyr Zelensky's advisor on economics, finance and taxation, has proposed to exempt pensioners and 100% state employees from general declaration of income.

"Overall declaration, according to our proposal, does not apply to those who receive income only from the state ... And if taxpayers do not submit a declaration, they confirm that they do not have any other income," he wrote on Facebook.

According to him, general declaration should be a consistent step after the tax amnesty of capital.

Hetmantsev clarified the matter concerns declaration in an electronic form.

At the same time, earlier Hetmantsev called the reduction of rates of the social security tax "thoughtless populism," which, according to him, led to an increase in the deficit of the Pension Fund and the Social Insurance Fund.

Finance Minister Oksana Markarova, in turn, insists that the decision contribute to the development of the economy.
