Tymoshenko attends Club of Rome summit

Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of the Batkivschyna All-Ukrainian Union, was invited and took part in the Club of Rome summit, which took place in Rome on October 17-18, deputy head of the party Hryhoriy Nemyria has said.

In a comment posted on the Batkivschyna website, he noted that "about 400 opinion leaders from around the world," including Tymoshenko, "were invited to the conference dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Club of Rome." He also published a summit program, according to which the conference was part of it.

During the conference, he said, Tymoshenko met with the co-presidents of the club, Anders Wijkman and Ernst von Weizsacker, whose powers expired, as well as with the newly elected co-presidents of the Club of Rome.

Earlier media reports referred to Tymoshenko's participation not in the Club of Rome summit, but in a conference outside its framework.
