Cabinet establishes expert group on language policy
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has established an expert group on language policy issues to study problem issues in the implementation of public policy in this sphere.
The corresponding decision was made at a government meeting on Wednesday, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.
The Expert Group on Language Policy is a temporary advisory body under the Cabinet, which is created to study problem issues related to the implementation of the state language policy.
The main tasks of this expert group are: conducting a comprehensive analysis of modern language policy and cultural policy, defining mechanisms for monitoring the language and cultural situation on an ongoing basis; preparation of proposals on the solution of problems connected with language policy.
The deputy premier was appointed as the head of the expert council, the minister of culture - the first deputy head, the deputy minister of culture - the deputy head, the director-general of the directorate of the language policy of the Culture Ministry - its secretary. Deputy ministers of education and science, youth and sport, foreign affairs and finance, as well as heads and deputy heads of other institutions and central executive bodies are also included in the group.
