Poroshenko by his decree puts into effect NSDC's decision on sanctions against individuals, companies

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree on putting into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) on the application and cancellation of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) to individuals and companies.
"Enact the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated May 2, 2018 "On the application and cancellation of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)," the relevant decree of Poroshenko, posted on the presidential website in early hours of Friday, says.
This decree comes into force from the date of its publication.
The decision of the National Security and Defense Council, which is enforced by this presidential decree, also provides, among other things, that positions 975 and 993 are deleted in Annex 1 to the decision of the National Security and Defense Council dated April 28, 2017.
As reported, on May 2, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine at its meeting supported the issue of the introduction of personal economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) against legal entities and individuals connected with Russian aggression against Ukraine, as well as against which the U.S. and the EU governments imposed sanctions.
"Sanctions are introduced on the initiative of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Bank of Ukraine for three years or indefinitely with respect to individuals and legal entities involved in Russian aggression against Ukraine, preparing and conducting illegal voting in the occupied Crimea within the framework of presidential elections in the Russian Federation, representatives of the Russian occupation administration in Crimea, militants from Russian armed formations in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, etc.," the press service of the National Security Council of Ukraine reported.
The information points out that sanctions have also been imposed on persons involved in the information and cyber aggression against Ukraine, to unlawful acts against Ukrainian citizens who are illegally detained in Russia, deputies of the State Duma and members of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the like.
"In addition, the sanctions imposed previously have been extended," the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine added.
However, the information does not indicate any surnames, names or even a number of persons who fall under sanctions.
