There is no unity in Kremlin on future of occupied territories in Donbas

Bloc of Petro Poroshenko MP Iryna Friz believes that the confrontation of separatists in Luhansk shows that there is no unity in the Kremlin regarding the future of occupied territories in Donbas.

"The refusal of the Russian president's press service to comment on the situation in occupied Luhansk is caused by the fact that negotiations are still underway between groups of influence – 'law enforcers' and the 'yard,' in particular, which is represented by [Russian presidential aide Vladislav] Surkov. So far, we can say that the leaders of this confrontation are 'law enforcers'... 'Law enforcers' will lobby the union of puppet groups as part of the TMR model [Transdniestrian Moldovan Republic]," she wrote on her Facebook page.

According to her, the scenario being played "is directly related to the Kremlin," but shows the absence of unity in the views of different groups on the future of the occupied territories.

"Therefore, Putin's press service is cautious in its statements," the parliamentarian said.

"It's clear that this is another violation of the Minsk agreements by the Kremlin. The events in Luhansk once again confirm that Russia is not going to leave these territories. At the same time, this once again demonstrates the real weakness of Russia, where different groups, through their actions, demonstrate their ability to influence and change the policy of the administration and of Putin himself," Friz said.
