The flight restrictions in the 50 km zone from land and higher to the upper border of the airspace over the ammunition depot blast near Kalynivka (Vinnystia region) will be in effect for at least 24 hours, Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan has said.

"We closed the skies in the 50 km zone at once. The restriction will last for at least 24 hours," the minister told reporters after a government meeting on Wednesday.

Omelyan said that the Infrastructure Ministry will quickly react to the situation, in particular, if the threat is reduced.

As reported, at around 22:00 on September 26, reports arrived about explosions of ammunition in an arsenal of the Defense Ministry near the town of Kalynivka.

The Ukrainian Airspace Management and Planning Centre (Ukraerocenter) has closed the airspace in the 50 km zone from the blazing epicenter at 23:45.

The ban is imposed for the 50 km zone until 2:59 September 28, 2017.
