Poroshenko draws attention to success of Ukrainian reforms

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko believes in the success and the irreversibility of the process of reforming the country.
"I am pleased that yesterday the EU mission made the statement and confirmed that over the past two years Ukrainian authorities have made more reforms than in the last 23 years. The effectiveness of the reforms has become irreversible. And these reforms are being implemented despite [Russian] aggression, during a war," the president said during the international economic forum in Lviv on Thursday.
The president also expressed confidence in the "fantastic prospects of Ukraine."
"Analysis of the experience of many countries shows that the first results of the changes usually appear in three, seven years after their start. The first result in Singapore was in 16 years. But we are not going to wait even for 16 months, we need the results now," he said.
Poroshenko also said that the reforms are ongoing in different spheres.
"We were told that we mustn’t start so many reforms, but they need to be conducted one by one. We are simultaneously reforming the security and defense sector, police, economic reform, reform of public procurement, decentralization ... and everything is being done in conjunction with the public and that is the key to our success. I am convinced of this," the president said.
