E-declaration system without access to databases, will be improved – NACP head

Ukraine's e-declaration system does not have access to outside databases and needs improvement, National Agency on Corruption Prevention Natalia Korchak has said.

"As of today the software developed by LLC Miranda serves like a bucket, which collects and publishes [electronically] information. NACP has for months been negotiating with the owners of corresponding registers. We have access to these registers, but our system does not have real time automatic access databases in them," Korchak said on Monday in Kyiv during a press briefing.

According to Korchak, the system will be upgraded in 2017 after funds are allotted in the budget for the work and the required software can be ordered.

She added NACP sent state agencies plans for the upgrade, but none agreed to help.

"Some turned down the requests because they were overloaded, while others did not reply. But thanks to our team of IT specialists, we developed the specifications of what needs to be done. We will release it. We are planning a roundtable discussion with professionals in the near future to discuss how to improve the functioning of the system," Korchak said.
