Over 30 countries, EU agree to declaration aimed at restoring Ukraine after hostilities – Zelenskyy

More than 30 countries and the European Union agreed to a declaration aimed at restoring Ukraine after military actions, and this is also a common commitment to support the Ukrainian state on its path to the EU, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at a meeting in the G7+ Ukraine format on restoring Ukraine in New York on Wednesday.

"We do value the G7 security declaration and the 26 bilateral security agreements, which fortify us all. And now, more than 30 countries and the EU have agreed to the declaration, truly strong declaration focused on rebuilding Ukraine after the hostilities," Zelenskyy noted.

The President said that the commitment includes coordinating recovery efforts through the Ukrainian donor platform, which ensures that joint ideas are put into practice.

In addition, Zelenskyy stressed that it is important for this support to become tangible this year.

"That’s why additional financial resources are planned by the end of the year, with access to $50 billion in immobilized assets from the aggressor state – Russia, which brought this war upon us," the Ukrainian president said.
