Turchynov, Waszczykowski discuss involvement of experts for defense sector reform in Ukraine

Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov and Foreign Minister of Poland Witold Waszczykowski have discussed the involvement of experts from Poland and other NATO countries to support the reform of the security sector and defense of Ukraine.

During the meeting the two officials discussed the current situation in Ukraine and the security situation in Europe, as well as the issues of Ukraine's security and defense sector reform, according to the statement on the official website of the NSDC.

According to Turchynov, Russia is trying to block the Minsk process. In addition to military provocations in the east, military bases have been strengthened near the border with Ukraine, while the number of military aircraft on the ground near the borders of Ukraine has been also increasing.

Turchynov and Waszczykowski stressed that Poland and Ukraine have a common position on the need to extend the sanctions against the aggressor state and to complete the liberation of all occupied territories.

In turn, the Polish foreign minister talked about the problems faced by the EU due to Brexit, and stressed the need to strengthen cooperation with Ukraine, both within the EU and at the level of the Visegrad Group country, stressing that "Poland has supported and will support Ukraine on its path to Europe. "
