Poroshenko, Israeli parliament speaker discuss Russia-caused developments in Donbas, Crimea

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during his visit to Israel met with Chairman of the Knesset (Parliament) of Israel Yuli Edelstein and discussed the developments in Donbas and Crimea in light of the Russia's aggression.

The parties discussed the ways to strengthen the legislative basis for cooperation between the countries, inter alia, its trade-economic component, the president's press service reported on Wednesday.

The parties praised the level of friendly partnership between Ukraine and Israel.

Special attention was paid to the security situation in the Middle East and the threatening developments caused by Russian aggression in Donbas and Crimea.

In addition, the parties noted the efficient work of the inter-parliamentary Groups of Friendship of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Knesset of the State of Israel and their significant contribution to the development of bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation.

Besides, the president informed on the preparations to the 75th anniversary of the Babi Yar tragedy and invited the representatives of the Knesset to take part in the commemoration.
