Ukrainian foreign minister, European Commission vice-president discuss Ukraine-EU visa liberalization

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin met with European Commission First Vice-President Frans Timmermans on Tuesday to discuss visa liberalization between Ukraine and the European Union and the implementation of the Minsk agreements, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry press service has said.

"The minister informed [his interlocutor] about results of the fulfillment of the second stage of the action plan and the implementation of the EU recommendations given in the Ukraine Progress Report in May of this year. Timmermans lauded the Ukrainian efforts. Klimkin urged the European Commission to recommend that the visa-free travel regime for Ukrainian citizens be introduced in the report which the European Commission is due to prepare by December 15, 2015," it said.

Klimkin and Timmermans also discussed Ukraine-EU interaction in the implementation of domestic reforms.
