Putin: Russia favours settlement in Donbas with U.S. involvement

Russian President Vladimir Putin has spoken in favor of the active participation of the United States in the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis and noted that dialog with Washington in this sphere has become more active.

"Russia and other international actors, including those who are more actively engaged in the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis (that is the Federal Republic of Germany and France, the so-called Normandy Quartet, certainly, with close involvement of the United States, and we have intensified our dialogue on this issue), we should all be committed to the full and unconditional implementation of the agreements that were achieved in Minsk. The Minsk Agreements have to be implemented," Putin said in an interview ahead of his visit to the 70th session of the UN General Assembly that will be shown by the CBS and PBS TV channels.

Putin rejected the idea that Russia's actions in Syria are aimed at distracting attention from Ukraine. "No, it is false. The Ukrainian issue is a separate huge issue for us," he said.
