Foreign ministers of Ukraine, Belgium discuss bilateral cooperation

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin during a working visit to Belgium on Sunday discussed Ukrainian-Belgian cooperation with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium Didier Reynders, the press service of the Ukrainian Embassy in Belgium has reported.

"During the meeting the heads of the foreign ministries of Ukraine and Belgium discussed the issues of bilateral Ukrainian-Belgian cooperation, in particular, the intensification of political dialogue and Belgium's support for the European aspirations of Ukraine, including the introduction of the EU visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens, and cooperation in the trade and economic area, including in the context of the prospects for the formation of a deep and comprehensive free trade area between Ukraine and the EU," the report said.

The ministers also focused on such topics as the security situation in eastern Ukraine, progress made in the implementation of the Minsk agreements, and freeing Nadia Savchenko, Oleh Sentsov, and other Ukrainian political prisoners illegally imprisoned in Russia.

In addition, the foreign ministers discussed joint actions to ensure that those responsible for the downing of the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 in July 2014 in Donetsk region will be brought to justice.
