Two people die, one injured after lightning strike in Ivano-Frankivsk region – Emergency Service
Two people died and one person was injured after being struck by lightning in the village of Chorna Richka in Ivano-Frankivsk region on Thursday, the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine has reported
The two men that died are from Chorna Richka and the injured person is from the village of Zamahora.
"The victim was diagnosed with the burns of the first and second degrees over 5-10% of his right hand in the reanimation center of Verkhovynsky central district hospital, where he was brought. The man's condition is estimated as stable, of average severity," the emergency service said in a statement.
All three victims were sheltering from the rain under a tree in a backyard.
"Emergency Service rescuers warn that if you're in a field during a thunderstorm, a hollow or ravine should be found. Under no circumstances can one hide under trees or sheds," the service said.
