The Ukrainian parliament has set the size of financial aid for the families of deceased Ukrainian soldiers at 750 subsistence wages, which currently totals UAH 882,000,

A total of 229 lawmakers passed draft law No. 2406 on amending Ukrainian law regarding the increase of the level of social protection for soldiers and members of their families on July 17. The law amends the law on the social and legal protection of military servicemen and members of their families.

The amendments envisage that families of military servicemen killed during military service or disease will receive nonrecurring pecuniary aid in the amount of 750 subsistence wages.

If soldiers are categorized as being in the first disabled group, they will receive nonrecurring pecuniary aid in the amount of 375 subsistence wages (UAH 441,000), for second disabled group – 300 subsistence wages (UAH 352,800), and the third disabled group – 225 subsistence wages (UAH 264,600 in 2015).

If soldiers are killed, the nonrecurring pecuniary aid will be sent in equal parts to all persons who have the right to receive it under their personal application or under the application of their legal representatives.

The law does not apply to those who received nonrecurring pecuniary aid before the law took effect.
