Ukraine, China ready to discuss using funds intended for Air Express for other projects
Ukraine and China are willing to discuss the possibility of redirecting loan funds, provided for a project to construct a rail link between Kyiv and Boryspil International Airport, for other projects.
According to the press service of Ukraine's Ministry of Infrastructure, this was discussed during a meeting of Infrastructure Minister Andriy Pyvovarsky and Chinese Ambassador to Ukraine Zhang Xiyun.
According to Pyvovarsky, the feasibility of the Air Express project, which has not been transferred from the State Agency for Investment and National Projects of Ukraine to the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Infrastructure, has not been confirmed, therefore the ministry is ready to propose alternative projects that can be funded using Chinese money.
"The ambassador assured the minister that China would continue to fulfill all the agreements signed by the previous governments and is ready to consider the possibility of redirecting investment to another project. The parties agreed to hold extra talks and finally decide on the ways to use this credit line," reads the report.
