Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) has announced the names of three former high-ranking Ukrainian officials who have had sanctions against them extended by the Council of the European Union.

"The European Union Council's resolution No. 2015/876 dated June 5 concerning sanctions against Serhiy Kliuyev has been extended until October 6 of this year, those against [Former Justice Minister Olena] Lukash and [former Minister of Education and Science Dmytro] Tabachnyk until March 6 of next year," the PGO press service reported on Monday.

Previously, the Council of the EU reported that as part of the EU sanctions over the improper use of Ukrainian state funds, the Council decided on June 5 to continue freezing the assets of three out of four persons who are subject to sanctions until June 6, 2015.

The sanctions were extended for nine months against two persons, and for four months against one person, the EU Council press service said.
