Sviatoslav Oliynyk, a deputy head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional administration, has decided to resign following Dnipropetrovsk regional administration head Ihor Kolomoisky's resignation, Radio Liberty reported on Wednesday.

"We came as one team a year ago, because the country was in an extremely difficult situation. And it would be right to go as one team as well. There is no question as to whether to resign or not resign - we came together and we should go together, too, if there are no other agreements. In this case, I believe everyone should go," Oliynyk said in an interview with Radio Liberty.

"Obviously, the president has chosen a very high standard concerning business people in [government] positions," and this should concern "everyone, including businessmen at the presidential office, the president himself, and the businessmen in the Cabinet of ministers," Oliynyk said.

"If the law is the same for everyone, we are interested in it being the same for everyone. If the central authority fails to maintain this standard, this would be a selective application of the law, the same that was under Yanukovych, and certainly the same prospects. If the standard is maintained, then we can expect our state's stable and appropriate development," he said.

Oliynyk said also that he did not personally know Valentyn Reznichenko appointed acting Dnipropetrovsk governor but would like to wish him success, as "the main objective is the same: to make sure that the Dnipropetrovsk land should remain protected and stable."

Kolomoisky's team "will use all its influence and resources to make sure that the Dnipropetrovsk land should remain a calm and protected territory," he said.

Asked about his political plans, Oliynyk said he could not rule out the appearance of "a team as a political entity."

It was reported earlier that Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko had accepted Kolomoisky's resignation as head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional administration in the early hours of Wednesday.
