Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has urged members of the competition commission on the election of the director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau not to delay the announcement of the competition and the clarification of its terms, and hopes that the head of the bureau will be elected by January 24.

"The law allows you to announce a competition already today. You should determine this during your work, and, as I promised and as required by law, by [January] 24 you should already decide on the principle of selection of candidates," he said at the first meeting of the competition commission on the election of the director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine in Kyiv on Friday.
