Yatseniuk: Russia must stop supplying weapons to eastern Ukraine
Russia must stop providing illegal armed groups in eastern Ukraine with weapons, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has said.
"Russia must immediately stop weapons supplies. Dozens of tanks, MANPADS, the latest equipment, as well as trained and armed agents of the FSB and the Main Intelligence Directorate, are in Donetsk and Luhansk," he said, while opening a government meeting on Thursday.
Yatseniuk said that the de-escalation of the conflict should be put on the agenda.
"Russia must understand that they have also put in jeopardy their own people, because their people are suffering because of the improper right-wing Russian policy with regard to Ukraine," he said.
Yatseniuk said the Russian leadership was carried away with "the idea of Russian national chauvinism, and decided that Ukraine could be the theater of military hostilities in order to support the rating of the Russian government and leadership."
