Sloviansk returning to peaceful life - Donetsk regional administration

Efforts continue to rebuild life in the city of Sloviansk, Donetsk region, occupied by the Ukrainian government forces, the Donetsk regional state administration said on Thursday.

"Thanks to the efforts of railroad workers, an electric train service has been launched between Kharkiv and Sloviansk. The city continues working gradually to restore its urban transport system. In particular, three routes have resumed around the city and efforts began to restore trolleybus services. Also, suburban bus services have been launched to Krasny Lyman and the villages of Cherskaske and Raihorodok," the statement said.

Two city neighborhoods and a dairy plant have already been reconnected to power supply from the neighboring Kramatorsk, the administration also said. In Sloviansk, a bakery reopened and ATMs are up and running again. The State Treasury was able to transfer payments of child benefits.

Sloviansk and Kramatorsk were retaken by the Ukrainian government forces on July 5.
