Kyiv police say they did not use water cannons against protesters in the center of Kyiv on Sunday.

"The police did not use water cannons against protesters, but a fire hose was used to put out a burning bus," the press service of the Interior Ministry's main department in Kyiv said.

Clashes between police and radical protesters in Hrushevskoho Street downtown Kyiv started on Sunday. A police bus pulled outside the cordon was set on fire by unidentified people.

It was -7 degrees Celsius in Kyiv at the moment of the clashes.

Ukrainian laws ban the use of a water cannon when the temperature is below 0 °C.
