Antitrust agency permits Epicenter to gain control over Kalynivka logistic center in Kyiv region

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has permitted Epicenter K LLC (Kyiv), which is developing the eponymous construction hypermarket chain in Ukraine, to gain control over private joint-stock company Kalynivka logistic center (the village of Kalynivka, Kyiv region), one of the key division of ASNOVA Holding distribution company (Kyiv), the press service of the committee reported.

The press service said that the decision was made on Tuesday, October 29.

Interfax-Ukraine has not managed to receive comments from Epicenter K on the deal.

As reported, in late 2011 Epicenter K through the purchase of 34.8825% in OJSC Kyivmetaloprom (Kalynivka, Kyiv region), one of the divisions of ASNOVA Holding, expanded its logistics area by 20,000 square meters, to 30,000 square meters.

Private joint-stock company Kalynivka logistic center was founded in 2004. The company leases own and leased property, builds residential and nonresidential facilities. The company owns the eponymous logistic center with a gross area of A-C class warehouses of around 20,000 square meters, that for administrative buildings – 5,600 square meters and open space of 7.8 hectares. The center is located on 42 hectares in Kalynivka.

According to the company report in the information disclosure system of the National Commission for Securities and the Stock Market of Ukraine, the holder of 100% of the company's shares as of late H1, 2013 was Kalynivka Investment LLC.

Epicenter K opened the first Epicenter hypermarket in Kyiv in December 2003.

As of early September the chain united 42 stores in Ukraine.

The owners of the company are Oleksandr and Halyna Hereha.

ASNOVA Holding was founded in 1992. ASNOVA Holding operates via its 10 divisions in the distribution, logistics, retail and property areas in central, western and eastern Ukraine.
