The government of Ukraine and Royal Philips Electronics have agreed to form a working group for the creation of 10 up-to-date medical centers, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

"We decided that our working group will draw up an action plan for five to seven years. It will be a specific program for the creation of modern medical centers in Ukraine," the premier said following a meeting with the top management of Royal Philips Electronics in The Hague on Thursday.

The premier said that the sides had discussed cooperation in various spheres during the meeting.

"First of all, we discussed our possible cooperation in the modernization of our medicine," he said.

Azarov noted that Philips was a leading manufacturer of medical equipment.

He added that Philips could help Ukraine to upgrade its energy saving systems and lighting systems.
