The European Parliament's observers, former Polish President Alexander Kwasniewski and former European Parliament President Pat Cox, have arrived at Kharkiv Central Clinical Hospital No. 5, where convicted former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko is undergoing medical treatment.

A cortege with a minibus, which was carrying Cox and Kwasniewski, accompanied by a traffic police car entered the territory of the hospital at 0957, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.

Tymoshenko's supporters who are staying outside the hospital met the car chanting "Free Yulia!"

This is the fourth visit of the European Parliament's observers to Ukraine since a decision was made to extend the mission. Cox and Kwasniewski came to Ukraine at the end of May, and also in the middle and the end of June.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych met with the former presidents in Crimea on Tuesday, July 30.

The European Parliament mission to Ukraine made of Cox and Kwasniewski started monitoring court proceedings involving Tymoshenko on June 11, 2012 under an agreement between Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov and European Parliament President Martin Schulz.

Their mandate was subsequently expanded to include the court proceedings involving former Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko and former Acting Defense Minister of Ukraine Valeriy Ivaschenko.

On April 18, the Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament heard the report of the Cox-Kwasniewski mission and decided to extend the mission through September 2013.
