Kyiv, July 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has held a meeting with former Polish President Alexander Kwasniewski and former European Parliament President Pat Cox in Crimea, the president's press service reported.

The European Parliament's observers are visiting Ukraine on July 29-31.

They are expected to meet with former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko in Kharkiv Central Clinical Hospital No. 5 on the morning of Wednesday, July 31.

As reported, the European Parliament mission to Ukraine made up of Cox and Kwasniewski started monitoring the court proceedings involving Tymoshenko on June 11, 2012 under an agreement between Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov and European Parliament President Martin Schulz.

Their mandate was subsequently expanded to include the court proceedings involving former Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko and former Acting Defense Minister of Ukraine Valeriy Ivaschenko.

On April 18, the Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament heard the report of the Cox-Kwasniewski mission and decided to extend the mission through September 2013.
