Lavrynovych elected as chairman of Supreme Council of Justice

Oleksandr Lavrynovych has been elected as chairman of the Supreme Council of Justice of Ukraine on Thursday.

According to member of the Supreme Council of Justice Lidia Izovitova, 16 members of the council took part in the vote to elect chairman of the council. Fifteen members of the Supreme Council of Justice supported Lavrynovych's candidacy and one member voted against him.

Thus, Lavrynovych has become chairman of the Supreme Council of Justice.

As reported, on May 16 Volodymyr Kolesnychenko was dismissed as chairman of the Supreme Council of Justice as his three-year term of office expired.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych dismissed Lavrynovych as Justice Minister on Thursday as he was elected as member of the Supreme Council of Justice.
