Justice minister: Members of election commissions should be held responsible for delaying vote count

Ukrainian Justice Minister Oleksandr Lavrynovych has said he believes that members of election commissions should be responsible for delays in the counting of votes in Ukraine's parliamentary elections.

"Members of election commissions should bear responsibility. It also hurts me when I see what is happening at some constituencies. This issue will be resolved by the Central Election Commission or law enforcement agencies. They will assess the lack of basic skills. Perhaps, a person was poor in mathematics – this is one responsibility. And if there are any other reasons for such actions, then the responsibility should be more severe," he told journalists before a government meeting in Kyiv on Wednesday.

He said that taking four days to count the votes at polling stations with 3,000 voters was beyond the bounds of common sense.
