Interpipe invests total of $83 mln in improving product quality, production lines in three years

The Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe has invested $83 million in improving product quality and new production lines in almost three years of the full-scale war.

"Interpipe continues to invest even during military operations. In total, $83 million was invested in product quality and new production lines during the war," the company's Facebook page reports.

At the same time, Director of the Railway Products Division of Interpipe Oleksandr Harkavy said at the World Economic Forum in Davos as part of the discussion panel "Leadership, Competitiveness, Sustainability: Success Stories of Ukraine's Top Investors and Enterprises," that despite the proximity of production facilities to the front line, Interpipe remains a major exporter of value-added products.

Approximately 83% of the company's total sales were exported, and the European market is the group's domestic market with a share of 47%. Currently, two out of three freight cars in Europe have Ukrainian wheels.

We were able to achieve this result thanks to a "green" investment of about $ 1 billion, made 13 years ago in the construction of a modern electric steelmaking complex. Thanks to it, Interpipe is the most efficient manufacturer in the context of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

"Our carbon footprint in railway products has already been reduced by 47%. This is a very significant achievement. Taking this into account, we are already ready for the environmental requirements of the European Union," he noted.

The company also continued to implement the project at the pipe plant in Nikopol, which is officially recognized as a combat zone due to the fact that the city is located 7 km from the occupied Energodar.

"We do not have the luxury of stopping investments! Our clients are in the EU and the USA, we must meet their requirements or we will lose them. So far, our partners have no doubts that Interpipe is a reliable supplier. We have proven this with our work over three years. Therefore, my final message will be this: Believe in us! Believe in Ukrainian companies! Believe in Ukraine!" the top manager emphasized.

As reported, Interpipe has invested $16 million in new equipment at one of the plants in Nikopol over almost three years of war and continues to do so.
