City of Power activists, Danish partners launch accessibility project in Mykolaiv
Activists of NGO City of Power in cooperation with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) with the financial support of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched a project to create a barrier-free environment in Mykolaiv.
The City of Power told Interfax-Ukraine that it is planned to install about 20 ramps and auxiliary technical means, which are the most necessary for people with disabilities, elderly people and parents with baby carriages, by July 2025.
The total budget of the project will depend on the technical characteristics of the buildings where the ramps and auxiliary aids will be installed.
According to the head of the NGO, Yevhen Hilin, the key objectives of the project are the installation of ramps in public places, in particular, in the institutions of the justice sector and social protection of the population in communities of Mykolaiv region.
NGO City of Power also helps communities and residents of Kherson region, which is suffering from shelling and the consequences of the Kakhovka HPP dam explosion, as well as Mykolaiv region, where many displaced people live.
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) supports humanitarian aid initiatives throughout Ukraine, implementing a wide range of comprehensive programs both directly and through national partners, providing emergency and long-term support.
