The number of killed and wounded North Korean soldiers in Kursk region has exceeded 3,000 people, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said following a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff Headquarters on Monday.

"Commander-in-Chief [of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr] Syrsky reported on the front and the Kursk operation. Currently, according to preliminary data, the number of killed and wounded North Korean troops in the Kursk region exceeds 3,000 people," he said on the Telegram channel on Monday.

According to the head of state, "there are risks of sending additional number of soldiers and military equipment from North Korea to the Russian army, and we will give tangible response."

He stressed the importance of the world to understand that the risk of destabilization around the Korean Peninsula and in the neighboring regions and waters is increasing proportionally to the development of cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang.

"The transfer of experience in modern warfare and the spread of military technology from Russia is a global threat. For peace, the price of restoring stability is always much higher than the price of effective pressure on those who destabilize the situation and destroy life," Zelenskyy said.
