Ukraine is discussing mobilization and its progress with the United States, but continues to focus on the rapid delivery of weapons as a priority need, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Heorhiy Tykhy has said.

"We inform our partners about the dynamics and the number of mobilized we have in Ukraine," he told a press briefing on Thursday.

According to Tykhy, the issue of lowering the mobilization age to 18 has never become a point of disagreement or tension during discussions on the topic.

"I can confirm that this topic is being discussed in talks. I can refute that it is a point of tension or that it is discussed in a critical or negative way," he said.

The spokesman stressed that Ukraine does not see the issue of increased mobilization as the main problem, as it is presented by foreign media, citing sources. It is weapons that are more important now.

"Now we have a situation in Ukraine where we do not have the appropriate amount of weapons and equipment to equip the already mobilized people. We believe that the already announced assistance – weapons and equipment, should arrive faster. This has been our consistent position since the beginning of the full-scale war," he said.
