France, UK allow AFU to strike deep into Russia with long–range missiles – media
France and the United Kingdom allowed Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory with their SCALP/Storm Shadow missiles, following the U.S. agreement to long-range attacks by the Armed Forces with ATACMS missiles, Le Figaro reports.
It is noted that this decision was made two months before the transfer of power between U.S. President Joe Biden and Donald Trump, who is suspected of wanting to reduce support for Ukraine.
"The decision was expected. The French and British allowed Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory with their SCALP/Storm Shadow missiles," the report says.
At the same time, the publication emphasizes that the decision of the United States to "give the green light to the use of long-range missiles" is decisive.
"This decision is an important change in the conduct of Ukrainian operations, in which there will be more American missiles than Franco-British ones," the text says.
Earlier, the New York Times, citing unnamed American officials, reported that U.S. President Joseph Biden, two months before the end of his presidential term, for the first time allowed the Ukrainian military to use a system known as ATACMS to protect its troops in Kursk region of the Russian Federation in response to the Russian Federation's decision to engage North Korean troops.
