Defense Forces shoot down 31 UAVs, one missile overnight
On the night of November 1, Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with Shahed-type attack UAVs and drones of an unspecified type; in total, during the night, the enemy attacked with 48 UAVs and three missiles, the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
"As of 08:00, damage to 31 enemy UAVs has been confirmed, 14 drones have been lost, three UAVs have flown in the direction of Belarus. The air defense also managed to shoot down one X-59/69 guided missile, the rest did not reach their targets due to active counteraction," the report says.
It is reported that on the night of November 1 from 18:00 on October 31, the enemy launched a strike with three X-59/69 guided air missiles from the airspace of the temporarily occupied Kherson region, and also attacked with 48 Shahed strike UAVs and unidentified drones from the Kursk direction. The enemy's tactical aviation launched strikes with guided air bombs at Kharkiv, Sumy and Zaporizhia.
The air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine, the command notes.
In particular, air defense operated in Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytsky, Sumy, Chernihiv, Odesa and Poltava regions.
"According to preliminary results, there were no casualties. However, as a result of the Russian missile and drone attack, several civilian enterprises were damaged due to falling debris, and apartment buildings and private houses in Poltava, Cherkasy, Kyiv and Odesa regions were also damaged," the command noted.
