Zelenskyy: We have chance to win in Eastern Europe today, so as not to fight later on northern or other eastern fronts
Today there is a chance to win in Eastern Europe, so as not to fight later on the northern or other eastern fronts, Russia offers everyone to forget about their principles and give up Ukrainian land, but throughout history, after such agreements were made, the threat returned even stronger, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"Today we have the chance to win in Eastern Europe, so that we do not have to fight later on the northern or other eastern fronts – in Baltics and Poland, or in the South – the Balkans where conflicts can easily be sparked, or in African nations whose issues are much closer to European societies than it might seem," the president said during his speech at the fourth Nordic-Ukrainian Summit.
According to him, the Russian Federation is trying to convince people that it is easy to compromise principles, that it is possible to ignore international law and turn a blind eye to injustice - this will supposedly bring stability.
"This is the main message from Moscow – Putin tells everyone to forget their principles, not to be decisive and to hand over Ukrainian land and people, and then, supposedly, Russian bombs will stop. But throughout history, whenever such deals were made, the threat returned – stronger," Zelenskyy stressed.
