Pentagon chief: No panacea in war, cumulative effect of Ukraine's military capabilities is important
U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd James Austin III said that there is no panacea in the war launched by Russia against Ukraine, and the cumulative effect of Ukrainian military capabilities and focus on what works are important.
Austin said during his speech at the Diplomatic Academy under the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry on Monday that there is no single capability will turn back the clock, and no system will stop Putin's attack. According to him, what matters is how Ukraine fights back. What matters is the cumulative effect of your military capabilities, and it is important to remain focused on what works, Austin said.
He assured that the United States will continue to protect the right of the Ukrainian people to live in security and freedom.
According to Austin, America’s goals remain clear, achievable, and principled. We seek a free and sovereign Ukraine that can defend itself against Russian aggression today and deter it in the future, the Pentagon chief emphasized.
The minister also stated that the outcome of Ukraine’s fight for freedom will help determine the trajectory of global security in the 21st century. According to him, the future of Europe is at stake, NATO’s strength is at stake, and America’s security is at stake.
He also noted the progress achieved within the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (the Ramstein format), which has met 24 times since 2022.
