GUR cyber specialists paralyze Russian nuclear ammo developer
Cyber specialists of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine (GUR), jointly with the BO Team hacker group, conducted an effective operation near Chelyabinsk to paralyze the work of an enterprise that develops nuclear weapons for the aggressor state Russia.
GUR said on the Telegram channel on Saturday that a successful attack on the Vega company, which is the only Internet provider in Snezhinsk, Chelyabinsk region, Russia, some 1,173 switches and ten servers were disabled. The information on the Vega servers was destroyed.
A number of strategic enterprises in the city have been without Internet and communication services for almost a week. Among them is the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Technical Physics (VNIITF), a Russian enterprise that develops nuclear weapons, which was connected only to the Vega provider.
This successful attack on the aggressor's cyberspace made it possible to obtain personal data of employees and an array of other documents from the sanctioned plant.
The information obtained, in particular, makes it possible to establish mechanisms for bypassing sanctions and the persons involved in this.
The consequence of the cyber operation was also a threat of disruption of the aggressor's state defense order, as evidenced by comments in local public groups in Snezhinsk, GUR said.
