Two people killed, school destroyed by enemy airstrike in Mohrytsia of Sumy region
Two residents of the village of Mohrytsia in Sumy region, including a child, were killed as a result of an air strike by Russian occupiers on a rural school on Thursday, head of Sumy Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Artiukh, said.
"Unfortunately, we have dead people. Just now, after an air raid siren on the settlement of Mohrytsia, an air strike was carried out by smart bombs [guided aerial bombs], as a result of which two people were killed, among them one child. Brother and sister, a 22-year-old brother and a six-year-old girl, who were in the courtyard of the school, which was destroyed by this air strike," Artiukh said on the telethon.
According to him, the occupiers dropped 56 guided aerial bombs on settlements in four border districts of Sumy region during the day. There are two more wounded in them. At the same time, Artiukh did not specify where exactly.
"Sumy region has never known such a number in one day. Therefore, the decision was made yesterday in advance: in order to save people's lives, five communities, 23 settlements were identified, from which people must necessarily leave. Unfortunately, the family of the people who died today refused to leave the endangered settlement yesterday," the head of the Regional Administration said.
He called on residents of the relevant settlements, included on the proposal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the military administration in the list of mandatory evacuations, to do so. "All measures for transportation, accommodation, food are provided for and all this awaits your decision to leave these dangerous places accordingly," Artiukh said.
