Shmyhal counts on strengthening military-technical cooperation with Czech Republic

Strengthening the defense and military-technical cooperation with the Czech Republic is the main goal of the Ukrainian Government delegation's visit to Prague, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has said.

"Our large team came to Prague with ambitious goals. The first task is to strengthen the base of our defense and military-technical cooperation, particularly the development of joint weapons production," he said in his opening remarks at the second round of the Ukrainian-Czech Intergovernmental Consultations in Prague on Tuesday.

According to the Prime Minister, the second task of the negotiations is the coordination of efforts for the implementation of the Peace Formula proposed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The third point on agenda is the strengthening of sanctions against Russia and promotion of the procedure of confiscating Russia's assets.

"The fourth task is to agree on the implementation of the specific infrastructure and energy project, and create conditions for attracting Czech investment to projects in Ukraine, particularly in the real sector, transport, logistics, recovery projects," Shmyhal said.

Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala, for his part, announced the signing of a cooperation agreement between the countries' interior ministries, five memorandums in the fields of space industry, energy, education and science. In addition, representatives of the countries' weapons industry will sign two agreements.
