State program to compensate cost of domestic agricultural machinery will help create 9,000 jobs - Svyrydenko

The implementation of a program of partial compensation to farmers for the cost of agricultural machinery and equipment of domestic production will create about 9,000 new jobs and attract UAH 1.5 billion in additional taxes to the budget, said First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko in Cherkasy at a meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the president of Ukraine.

“Supporting domestic producers and stimulating production development is one of the key tasks of the government. We strive to create conditions for business development. A number of programs being implemented today in Ukraine are aimed at this. For example, a program to compensate 25% of funds for purchased domestically produced agricultural machinery This year, the state budget includes UAH 1 billion. According to estimates, the funds will be enough to support about 4,000 applications. At one time, this program doubled the share of domestic agricultural machinery in the domestic market and made it possible to launch the production of new equipment that was not previously produced. We hope to surpass this result,” the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers quoted her as saying.

The Cabinet of Ministers recalled that the list of domestic agricultural machinery and equipment, the cost of which is partially compensated by the budget, before the start of the large-scale invasion included more than 200 domestic manufacturers of agricultural machinery and 17,000 items of machinery and equipment.

In the near future, the Ministry of Economy plans to announce the submission of updated applications from manufacturers. Once updated, the list is expected to contain hundreds of manufacturers.

According to Svyrydenko, the Affordable Loans 5-7-9% program remains relevant and in demand. An equally important role in supporting producers is played by grant programs for processing, for starting and developing their own business.

As reported, in Ukraine in 2023, UAH 2.4 billion was allocated as part of the Own Business program. Since the beginning of its operation, grants worth UAH 3 billion have been provided to 13,500 entrepreneurs, who have pledged to create 25,000 jobs.
