Sefcovic to visit Kyiv in mid Sept – Groysman

European Commission Vice President Maros Sevcovic is going to visit Kyiv in mid-September, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman wrote.

Groysman said on his Facebook page that on Thursday he had a telephone conversation with Sevcovic. The prime minister said that during the conversation the creation of the Energy Efficiency Fund in Ukraine had been discussed, which is one of the priorities of the Ukrainian government.

"We are all ready to launch this project - the necessary legislative acts have been adopted, the relevant constituent documents have been prepared and agreed," Groysman wrote.

The premier said that the parties agreed to attract EUR 100 million from European partners in the form of targeted funds for filling the Fund and start financing specific energy efficiency projects.

"Practical negotiations on the financial support of Brussels for this project will continue in the near future, in particular, during the visit of Maros Sefcovic to Kyiv in mid-September," Groysman wrote.

As reported, on June 22, Sefcovic said that the European Union would allocate EUR 100 million to Ukraine for the Energy Efficiency Fund, as soon as the Ukrainian parliament completes the formation of the legislative field for the work of the Fund.
