Ukraine increases cheese exports by 13.7%, imports by 25.3% in Jan-Feb

Ukraine in January-February 2017 exported 874 tonnes of cheese to foreign markets, which is 13.7% more than in the same period of 2016.

According to customs statistics released by the State Fiscal Service, in monetary terms shipments of these products increased by 28.3%, to $2.77 million.

Cheese imports in January-February amounted to 559 tonnes, which is 25.3% more compared to January-February 2016. The country imported products worth $5.5 million.

At the same time, butter exports from Ukraine in January-February increased by 2.9 times, to 1,780 tonnes. In monetary terms the figure amounted to $6.7 million against $1.8 million in January-February 2016. Butter imports, according to the State Fiscal Service, over the two months of 2017 fell by 5.4 times, from 328 tonnes ($1 million) to 61 tonnes ($306,000).

Exports of condensed milk and cream in January-February 2017 increased by 30%, to 6,580 tonnes. Ukraine in January-February 2017 exported condensed milk and cream for a total of $11.7 million, which is almost 1.7 times more than in January-February 2016 ($6.87 million).
