Some UAH 2 billion would be raised for reconstruction of roads in Donetsk region in 2017 from various sources, Head of the Donetsk Region Military-Civilian Administration Pavlo Zhebrivsky has said.

"This year UAH 86 million as provided from the national budget for reconstruction of roads of general use in Donetsk region. These funds arrived to the region only at the end of summer! Real works could be started only in September and October. Next year we seek to raise around UAH 2 billion from various sources of financing to bring the roads to the normal state," Zhebrivsky said on Facebook.

He said that there is a lack of contractors in the region to reconstruct roads.

"Before the war in Donbas there were road companies, specialists and equipment. Now specialists have scattered and equipment was mainly left on the occupied territory. It is important for us to restore the efficiency of the companies today," he said.
