Competition agency permits Darnitsa firm to acquire Borschahivka chemical plant

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has permitted private joint-stock company Darnitsa Pharmaceutical Firm (Kyiv) to acquire over 50% of share in public joint-stock company Research and Industrial Center Borschahivka chemical and pharmaceutical plant (Kyiv), the committee's press service has reported.

As reported, in December 2015, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine permitted private joint-stock company Darnitsa Pharmaceutical Firm to acquire over 25% of shares in Research and Industrial Center Borschahivka chemical and pharmaceutical plant.

On March 20, 2015, an auction was held where Kyiv City sold its 30% stake in the plant for UAH 171.844 million. The financial company Kub, which represents the interests of Darnitsa pharmaceutical company, bought the stake.

The auction was held on the Perspectiva Stock Exchange. The starting price of the stake was UAH 143 million.

As of late 2012, 40% of the products made by Borschahivka chemical plant were drugs included in the obligatory list of socially oriented drugs made in Ukraine.

Darnitsa Pharmaceutical Firm is among the top-ten largest pharmaceutical producers of Ukraine and is one of the top-ten largest suppliers to hospitals.
