Direct contacts between Ukrainian, Latvian companies to facilitate Ukraine's European integration - Yatseniuk

Direct contacts between Ukrainian and Latvian companies will help Ukraine's rapprochement with the European Union, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatseniuk has stated.

"We need to speed up establishing direct contacts between our companies. This will contribute to the rapprochement of Ukraine with the European Union," Yatseniuk said at the round table "Solidarity of Latvia and Ukraine on its way of European integration" in Kyiv.

According to the premier, "the agenda, which will help Ukraine prosper and make it competitive" will be launched from January 1, 2016.

Yatseniuk said Ukraine is preparing for the introduction of a visa-free regime with the EU and expressed hope the Verkhovna Rada will pass the appropriate set of laws.

In addition, he said Ukraine should work over strategic communications and noted that NATO has established a special trust fund for the fight against Russian propaganda.

"We know that the best recipe for reforms is a strong desire and a strong faith," the premier assured.
