Naftogaz to receive 80 MW power generating units for one of regions from Norwegian govt and UNDP
Naftogaz Group will receive 80 MW power generating equipment, which will be purchased using grant funds from the Norwegian government and with the organizational participation of UNDP, the group reported on its website on Tuesday.
According to its message, this will help provide additional generation of electricity and heat for residents of one of the regions of Ukraine.
As Naftogaz notes, earlier on the official website of the Norwegian government it was reported that an additional 1.5 billion kroner would be allocated for Ukraine's energy needs, which is equivalent to EUR 127 million. Part of these funds will be used specifically for the purchase of power generating equipment for Naftogaz Group, the company explained.
"We are grateful to our Norwegian partners for their assistance in strengthening Ukraine's energy infrastructure, which continues to suffer from enemy attacks. We appreciate Norway's consistent support since the beginning of the full-scale war," said Naftogaz Group CEO Oleksiy Chernyshov.
As reported in mid-September, Naftogaz agreed with UNDP to purchase gas piston units as part of strengthening cooperation on energy security and the 2024/2025 heating season.
