Uklon mulling return to work during curfew
The Ukrainian online taxi service Uklon is considering the possibility of returning to work during curfew, Uklon CEO Serhiy Hryshkov said in an interview with Forbes.
According to him, a return is most likely possible in the western regions.
"We currently have a number of official requests from local administrations asking us to return the service to work during curfew. A return is most likely possible in the western regions (of the country). There are no specific deadlines yet - everything depends on communication with local government and military authorities and law enforcement agencies," he said.
He also pointed out that the application's operation at night was the company's position, formed at the request of users.
"This is, for example, a huge number of trains arriving at the stations at night. This was a way to get to the hospital at night," the expert explained.
In addition, according to the CEO of Uklon, the company focuses on investing in expansion into foreign markets. In Ukraine, it is focused on developing delivery, preparing to launch couriers in Dnipro.
There are 80,000 drivers registered on the Uklon platform in Ukraine, of which 2% are women.
The company limited the service during the curfew from March 14.
