URCS opens two youth volunteer spaces in Khmelnytsky region

The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) has opened youth volunteer spaces in Slavuta and Kamyanets-Podilsky.

"The Ukrainian Red Cross has opened two volunteer and youth spaces at once with the support of the Danish Red Cross in Khmelnytsky region. In total, it is planned to open more than 20 such locations in Ukraine," the URCS said on Facebook on Friday.

In Slavuta, the youth volunteer space was created on the basis of gymnasium No. 1 and is the first institution in the town with an author's program of non-formal education. Volunteers of the Ukrainian Red Cross plan to hold training sessions and leadership courses here, organize leisure activities for young people and develop their creative abilities, as well as popularize the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

In Kamyanets-Podilsky, the space is open in the premises of the social and cultural center Podvirria. The volunteer school of the Ukrainian Red Cross, the school of humanitarian education and leadership Leader of Change, the board games and intellectual leisure club Game-For!, the workshop of creative activities ARTroom, the cinema house Last Row, the school First Aid - first aid and first psychological aid, media the studio.

Participants in youth volunteer spaces are students and pupils aged 14 to 25 years old who are looking for opportunities for education, development and creativity. Leaders and activists can be young people between the ages of 18 and 34 who are interested in social issues and strive to make positive changes in society.

As noted on the URCS website, similar spaces are already functioning in Mykolaiv and Pervomaisk (Mykolaiv region), Kropyvnytskyi, Sambor and Chervonohrad (Lviv region) and in Bila Tserkva (Kyiv region).
