Zelenskyy meets with President Steinmeier in Berlin
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during a working visit to Berlin, met with Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
"In Berlin, I had a meeting with Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier. We talked about the situation at the front, the current defense needs of Ukraine," Zelenskyy said in Telegram channel.
The head of state thanked the German side for the significant support of Ukraine, and also noted that the signed agreement on security cooperation with Germany is an important step in strengthening Ukrainian defense capability.
Separately, Zelenskyy and Steinmeier noted the importance of launching joint production of weapons, the presidential press service said.
The interlocutors also paid special attention to the implementation of the Ukrainian peace formula.
In addition, they focused on the issue of further development of municipal and interregional partnerships between Ukraine and Germany, which should be embodied in specific agreements and projects. In particular, the parties agreed on further steps to prepare for the next Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine, which is to be held in Berlin in June this year.
